Terms of Service

Book Mockup Studio ("the service") is provided free of charge by the Writing Wives ("we", "us"). By using it you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the service.
What the service does
The service turns flat book cover images into 3D mockup renders. All processing happens in your own browser; we don't receive, store, or see your images. See our Privacy Policy for the detail.
Your images and your rights in them
You keep all rights in the cover images you use. We claim no ownership of them and, since they never reach us, we couldn't use them even if we wanted to.
You are responsible for having the right to use the images you upload. Don't use the service with artwork you don't have permission to use.
The mockups you create
Renders you produce are yours to use, including commercially — on retailer pages, in advertising, on social media, in press kits, anywhere. No attribution is required and no licence fee is payable to us.
The underlying mockup templates are based on templates by CoverVault. Your right to use the renders you generate is subject to CoverVault's own terms for their templates, which broadly permit commercial use of the resulting mockups. You may not redistribute or resell the templates themselves, or attempt to extract them from this site to use as templates elsewhere.
Acceptable use
Please don't:
- Use the service for unlawful purposes, or with content that is unlawful.
- Attempt to disrupt the service, or subject it to automated bulk use that degrades it for other people.
- Attempt to extract, scrape, or redistribute the template asset bundles.
- Submit email addresses that aren't yours.
Availability
The service is free and provided as-is. We may change it, add or remove templates, or discontinue it entirely at any time, without notice. Templates you've used before may stop being available. Because your covers and settings live only in your browser's storage, clearing your browser data will remove them and we cannot recover them for you.
Disclaimer and liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that renders will meet any particular standard.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, including lost profits, lost sales, or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Emails
If you give us your email address we'll send you occasional updates about new templates and other author tools. You can unsubscribe from any email, at which point we stop. See the Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the date at the top will change when we do. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Saskatchewan, and the courts of Saskatchewan have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
